HEALTH AND SAFETY

N

Children’s Rides are a member of the Showmen’s Guild of Great Britain and abide by their code of rules and regulations.

N

In 1997 the Health and Safety Executive published the Fairgrounds and amusement parks: Guidance on safe practice. Safety measures at Children’s Rides are carried out according to the strict regime laid down for the testing and operating of equipment in this document. It has been revised over the years and the 2017 version can be viewed and downloaded here.

N

Children’s Rides use Independent Engineers who specialise in the testing of fairground rides to test their rides. The engineers are recognised by the Health and Safety Executive and are registered by a controlling body.

N

Children’s Rides have a series of checks they complete at each site before they build rides to ensure the ground is safe. We conduct strict daily checks on rides before they are operated for the public and written record is taken.

N

All our rides are inspected yearly and closely monitored under the ADIPS scheme. ADIPS ensures that each and every fairground and amusement park ride or device is certified as safe for use. For more information on this, take a look at the ADIPS website.
